Safety & assurance

Priorities get reordered under programme pressure. A precondition is the state that must exist before work is permitted to begin — and that distinction is the entire basis of how DDMS Global operates.

0.0M

Consecutive man-hours worked across live industrial project sites without a single lost-time injury. We report the absolute figure rather than a rate, because rates are easier to present favourably.

The system

None of them are unusual as statements. What matters is whether the conditions exist for them to actually function when a programme is under pressure.

100%

of personnel hold stop-work authority

Unconditional stop-work authority

Every operative on a DDMS Global site — including the newest subcontract labourer on their first shift — can stop work without justification and without consequence. It is briefed at induction, tested in audit and it has never once been treated as a discipline matter.

Zero

unengineered sequence changes permitted

Engineered before executed

Load paths, temporary works and lift arrangements are calculated and reviewed before mobilisation. Where a sequence changes on site, work stops until the change has been engineered and re-briefed. Improvisation is a reportable event.

4.1M

consecutive man-hours without a lost-time injury

Permit discipline as a hold point

Isolation, gas-free and entry certification are absolute gates. No mechanical work begins before the certificate exists at the work front — not in a file, not en route, physically present and signed.

100%

task-verified competence before deployment

Competence, verified

Every operative's competence is verified against the task, not assumed from their trade. Riggers, banksmen, appointed persons, confined-space entrants and machine operators are individually assessed and recorded, with currency tracked.

Zero

unplanned client outages caused in 5 years

Interface planning with operations

Working adjacent to live plant requires the client's operations team inside our planning structure, not alongside it. Joint interface plans, shared permit protocols and agreed communication routes are established before mobilisation.

3.2×

near-miss reporting above industry average

Learning without blame

Near misses are reported without consequence and analysed for system cause rather than individual fault. Reporting rates going up is treated as a positive indicator, because a site with no reported near misses is a site that is not looking.

Hierarchy of control

PPE is the last line, never the plan. Most of our method decisions — cold cutting over thermal, top-down over felling, mechanical over manual handling — are elimination and substitution decisions taken at the desk.

01

Eliminate

Remove the hazard entirely. Cold cutting eliminates ignition source rather than controlling it. Top-down demolition eliminates the drop zone rather than excluding people from it.

02

Substitute

Replace with a lower-hazard method. Mechanical shear in place of oxy-fuel. Remote-operated diamond wire in place of manned cutting in a confined atmosphere.

03

Engineering controls

Temporary works, hard segregation, exclusion barriers, dust suppression, fall prevention systems and load-moment limiting on plant.

04

Administrative controls

Permits, isolation certification, method statements, competence verification, briefings, sequence discipline and monitoring thresholds.

05

PPE

The last line of defence, provided and replaced on condition rather than schedule — and never the reason a task is considered safe.

Standards & compliance

Safety, environment and quality are managed as a single framework rather than three standards operated separately — which is what makes the hold points in one visible to the others.

ISO 45001:2018

Occupational Health & Safety Management System

Certified integrated management system covering hazard identification, operational control, competence, emergency preparedness and continual improvement across all sites.

ISO 14001:2015

Environmental Management System

Environmental aspects and impacts registered per project, with objectives, monitoring, compliance obligations and waste hierarchy applied to every scope.

ISO 9001:2015

Quality Management System

Documented process control from tender through survey, engineering, execution and close-out, with defined hold points and evidence requirements at each transition.

CPCB / SPCB

Pollution Control Compliance

Central and State Pollution Control Board authorisations for waste handling, transport and disposal, with verified licensed outlets and consignment documentation.

IADC Alignment

International Demolition Practice

Method development, structural appraisal and temporary works practice aligned to international demolition industry technical guidance.

HSE questions

We have completed 4.1 million consecutive man-hours across live project sites without a lost-time injury. We publish the man-hour figure rather than a rate because rates are easy to flatter through denominator selection, and an absolute consecutive-hours figure is harder to present misleadingly.

Fully, and on your system rather than ours. On every operating-site deployment we work within the client permit, isolation, contractor management and emergency response framework. Where our internal controls are more restrictive than yours we apply ours in addition — never instead.

Everyone, without exception and without a requirement to justify the stop before work halts. That includes subcontract personnel on their first shift. In eighteen years no stop-work has been treated as a discipline matter, and we state that at every induction precisely because the claim is checkable.

Competence is assessed against the specific task, not inferred from trade or years of service. Riggers, banksmen, appointed persons, confined-space entrants and machine operators are individually assessed with currency tracked, and deployment is blocked in our system where currency has lapsed.

Work stops in that area until the change has been engineered and re-briefed. Adopting an unengineered sequence change at the work front is a reportable event in our system regardless of whether anything went wrong, because the exposure is created by the decision rather than the outcome.

Our emergency arrangements are aligned to the client's site plan, not run in parallel to it. Muster points, alarm protocols, rescue provision for confined space and work at height, and casualty routes are agreed and rehearsed before mobilisation, with our supervisors integrated into the site's incident command structure.
